Some Tips On Smooth And Regular Bowel Movements

lime juice for bowel movements?

Here are some quick tips to start your day smoothly. :)

  • Drink a couple of cups of warm water with some lime juice (half a lime is enough), and walk around for a while. Depending on individual, you may need to drink more or less - although, from personal experience, it works best when you drink enough warm water to make you feel “full”. It will take you a few days to figure out exactly how much water (and how warm) it takes to make it work. Do this as soon as you wake up, so that you give it enough time to work on your bowel.
  • Some people suggest adding a teaspoon of honey to the mixture of warm water and lime juice. I have never tried it myself, but, if you have some honey easily available, go ahead and use it. You could also use a teaspoon of sugar instead.
  • By the way, I have also tried drinking just warm water (without the lime or the honey or the sugar), and even that works.
  • Over the years, I have heard about different things that work for different people in this matter. Here is a quick list of those things: tea, coffee, cold water, warm milk, breakfast….and reading a newspaper (honestly, I know some people who claim that they can’t do their business without their daily reading dose)!

More than the warm water and the lime juice, I think regular bowel movements are influenced by “regularity” - if instead of warm water, coffee works for you, then fine - drink coffee, but be regular in doing that, and your bowel will work it out.

  2. Have one or two packets or cups of sugar-free oatmeal every morning. You can also sprinkle the raw oatmeal in yogurt.

  5. Tyra - start your day with the tip mentioned above. make sure you drink it on an empty stomach. i usually have 12oz. of warm water with 1 tablespoon of honey when i wake up and within 20min i get rid of nightime waste.

drink more water throughout the day and have whole wheat toast and a banana for breakfast. eat an apple or some raisins after each meal. also try to exercise 3times a week. it will literally help get things moving.

also remember that normal for one person may not be normal for everyone else. as long as your consistent you dont need to worry about not having any movement. some people go 2times a day while others normal may constitute 3 times a week.

    hope this helps!

  6. Try some natural food that is not filled with a lot of sugar(flax seed, high fiber foods)and see if that helps. Also, a hot beverage, like coffee, tea, etc.) will help, especially if you drink it at the same time each day.

  7. i used to only go once a month until i started eating a fruit parfait every day. the following combination is MAGIC!!! for some reason though, only the specific brands

Take 1 C. of Stoneyfield Farm Yogurt (any flavor) and top with a handful of blueberries and strawberries. Sprinkle Bear Naked brand granola on top to taste (I use the Fit Vanilla Almond Crunch flavor).

I swear … amazing. I’ve tried the same thing with other yogurts or granolas or other fruit combinations and they just didn’t work for me. It takes a few days for your body to adjust but after that, the bowel movements pretty much happen within an hour or two of eating the parfait in the morning. I love it — like clockwork!
